Starter Drives
This starter drive (overrunning clutch gear) is a critical transmission component for starters. It safely delivers cranking torque and protects the starter from engine reverse‑rotation damage, compatible with many gasoline and diesel engine starters.

When the starter operates, the gear meshes with the flywheel ring gear and transfers motor power to start the engine. Once the engine fires up, the flywheel spins faster than the starter — the overrunning clutch instantly disengages to prevent high‑speed reverse damage to the armature.
